TANGIER TO MARRAKECH TOUR ITINERARY:
As soon as you arrive to the ferry port/ airport you will be welcomed by your guide. Your trip in the north of Morocco will begin as you will tour around the Old Medina in Tangier and drive through the scenic chain of Rif Mountains, where the highest point is at 2456m in Jbel Tidghine. Continue your drive as you pass by the capital of the Spanish protectorate Teteouan at the foot of the Rif Mountains. If you start noticing blue-washed buildings then you know that you’ve arrived to the blue pearl of Morocco, Chefchaouen. The distinctive palette of blue and white buildings make a beautiful contrast with the arid setting, the city has much to offer, from hillside hikes and waterfalls to local baths or hammams, and let’s not forget of course the old medina that represents a mixture of Moroccan and Andalusian architecture displayed in the red-tiled roofs, bright-blue buildings and narrow lanes converging on busy Plaza Uta el-Hammam and its restored Kasbah. You will spend a night at one of the local riads where you relax and have a taste of the Moroccan northern cuisine
After breakfast, get ready then because today we are heading to the legendary archaeological site of Volubilis, one of the finest Roman ruin in Morocco. We will continue to the holy town of Moulay Idriss where thousands of Moroccan come to visit the tomb of one the descendants of the prophet and preform pilgrimage known as Moussem. Our discovery will continue as we will head to the imperial city of Meknes where you will be enchanted by the impressive architecture, medieval walls and monumental gates. Right after you have lunch you will have the chance to visit Moulay Ismail’s shrine, Bab El Mansour and the massive walls of the medina. Our journey in Meknes comes to an end and we will head to Fes where you will spend the the night at your riad.
Today we will travel back in time as we visit the old Medina and take a walk through the narrow ancient streets of Fes. You will notice that there are no cars but only donkey carts that are used as a form of transportation. These alleys that have existed since the medieval times almost feel like a maze, this part of the city is called Fes El Bali (Old Fes), it is considered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is the oldest part of Fes.
Did you start smelling something unfamiliar but surprisingly good? Yes, you have reached the souk where exotic perfumes and spices are bought and sold. However, your nose might also drag an unpleasant odor that comes from the leather tanneries where authentic Moroccan leather is made.
Overnight at your Fes Medina Riad
After an early breakfast, , Today’s journey will be full of scenery and beautiful landscapes as we cross both the Middle Atlas Mountains on our way to Ifrane. The little town of Ifrane also known as the Switzerland of Morocco is famous for its European-like style and is quite popular among the locals and the tourists as a holiday destination and a ski resort in the winter. We will stop in Midelt, where we will have lunch and relax so we could resume our journey. The region offers breathtaking views, especially of the eastern Middle Atlas, which seems to rise up of nowhere. As we get near to Erfoud you will notice a lot of palm trees and many fortified villages known as “Ksours”. You will notice a sudden change as we transition to the route that leads to the desert. Once we reach Merzouga, we can relax and drink some Moroccan tea, after that we will head to the desert riding camels, on our way to the camp you will have the chance to witness the magical sunset and wander the endless dunes of the Sahara. After you arrive to the camp and have dinner, you will have fun with nomads, dancing around the campfire on the rhymes of the spiritual Gnawa music.

Wake up early so you wouldn’t miss the mesmerizing sunrise, right after breakfast you will enjoy riding the camel once again and enjoy the Sahara dunes, after we will head to Tinghir and Todra Gorges and we will arrive there at lunch. The region provides one of the largest oases and several Kasbahs, you will have a great time walking around Berber villages and discovering the local culture. We will resume our journey to the Dades Valley and the Dades Gorges and spend the night at your hotel.
Today will aslo be an exciting day as we continue our discovery, after breakfast, our journey will carry on, crossing many fertile fields and beautiful landscapes we will head to Ouarzazate, but before we get there we will drive past the Valley of Roses next to Kelaa M’Gouna, a city known for its rose water products and Rose Festival in May. We will also drive past the Kasbahs of Skoura oasis and we will finally arrive to our destination. Ouarazazate also known as the Hollywood of Morocco or as some call it “Ouallywood” is famous for its cinema production. Many movies have been shot in Ouarzazate including The Sheltering Sky, Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia and even the famous series Game of thrones, you will have the chance to discover all that and more as you head to the cinematographic museum. After that we will go check Ait benhaddou Kasbah that has been used as the backdrop for many popular movies. As soon as we finish our discovery of the UNESCO world heritage site, we will continue to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi N'Tichka pass.

Enjoy your breakfast and get ready for a morning guided tour of Marrakech. Your tour will start with a visit to the Saadian Tombs that houses over 60 tombs that date back to the 16th century and more than 100 beautiful gardens. Later on, we will visit the famous Koutoubia Mosque which dates to the 12th century that is considered a prototypical monument of Moroccan-Andalusian architecture, and after we visit the beautiful Bahia Palace we will go discover and shop some exquisite Moroccan spices and herbs. As we take a walk through the Medina and enjoy its small alleys, riads and local shops we will arrive at at Jaama El Fna Square where you will be amazed by the different juice vendors, food stalls and entertainers of all kinds. Afterwards, you will experience the delicious traditional Moroccan food, do you prefer Tajine or couscous ? Perhaps both . Once we are well fe and relaxed, we will continue to Majorelle Gardens with its museum riding a horse drawn carriage through the modern Gueliz area.
In the afternoon, we’ll head to our Riad or hotel to spend the rest of the night.
Just before we head to the airport we will try to make use of the time we have left the best possible way we can, we will wander around the exotic souks and shops of the Medina and buy some gifts and souvenirs for friends and family.
